Feet to CM converter
feet (ft)= centimetres (cm)The formula
feet × 30.48 = centimetres. If you have feet and inches, convert the inches separately: inches × 2.54, then add the two results together.
Mixed feet-and-inches figures are the usual stumbling block. A height of 5 feet 9 inches is not 5.9 feet. Convert the two parts separately: 5 feet is 152.4 cm, 9 inches is 22.86 cm, and the total is 175.26 cm.
An alternative that avoids the two-step calculation is to turn everything into inches first. Multiply the feet by 12, add the loose inches, then multiply the total by 2.54. For 5 feet 9 inches that is 69 inches, and 69 multiplied by 2.54 gives the same 175.26 centimetres.
